John Thomas

I was born in Chicago, and happily moved to Southern California in 1972.  My wife Peggie and I have lived in South Laguna since 1988. With an MBA from the University of Michigan, my work experience has generally involved real estate and finance.

My interests are rather basic: I’d like to see that we keep local services like the Post Office, work to improve relations with the new owners of the hospital, and with the business district along Coast Highway having been upgraded a few years back with new street lights and other attractive improvements, I’d like to see if we could work with CalTrans and the city to try to improve safety by reducing traffic speeds on the highway through South Laguna.  I’d also like to see the local City government come to better understand how the economic burden caused by more and more tourists to Laguna diverts City funds away from fundamental needs of the residents like sidewalks and other basic infrastructure improvements.

I can be found most days walking the streets of South Laguna with our big hairy doggie, Pala.
