South Laguna in the early 1950s--SLCA had been founded about 5 years before this photo was taken.

South Laguna Civic Association (SLCA) was founded in 1946 with the mission of protecting the quality of life in our community.

Much has changed since then, of course, but our goal has not: preserving the community character of our little piece of paradise. Since that time, SLCA has led the way in advocating and securing many of the features we all prize most about South Laguna, including the Village Green park, protecting our hillside open space, preserving the Aliso Creek estuary, developing Fred Lang park, developing the Community Garden, promoting public space as part of the Montage project, and emplacing streetscaping along Coast Highway.
